Landscape Architecture alum Andy Witkin featured in latest ‘Movers, Shakers’ interview

Andy Witkin
Landscape Architecture alumnus Andy Witkin (’79), recently inducted into the American Society of Landscape Architects’ College of Fellows, is featured in the latest “Movers, Shakers, Designers, Makers,” the College of Arts and Architecture’s interview series highlighting alumni making an impact across the arts and design disciplines. The interview is available on the college’s YouTube channel. Witkin is president and CEO of Witkin Hults + Partners, a Florida-based landscape and planning firm he founded in 1988. An avid volunteer and donor to Penn State, he established the Stanley Witkin and Pauline Wasserman Memorial Trustee Scholarship and the Witkin Hults + Partners Educational Equity Scholarship in the College of Arts and Architecture. Witkin said he said he gets as much out of “giving back” as the students do. “My re-engagement with the University as a volunteer has been unbelievably meaningful,” he noted. “I’m on the ‘back nine’ of life, and the students are on the ‘front nine.’ The world is going to be shaped by what the students do, so anything we can do to help is a benefit to everybody.” “Movers, Shakers, Designers, Makers” was launched virtually in spring 2020 to give alumni a way to discuss their careers and accomplishments, in a format that could be shared broadly. Previous interviews featured, among others, Graphic Design alumnus Adam Cohn, vice president of global design for Converse; School of Visual Arts alumnus and ceramic artist Roberto Lugo; and School of Theatre alumnus and social media entrepreneur Mike Karns.
