Redding's influences are from a diverse array of disciplines with a focus on engagement, feedback, and technology practices.

Spawning from the classics and antiquities to history and tech, her explorations integrate these elements into a study of symbols. The imagery she deals with in her work is a study from the end of an object’s life and its part in nature. Her large canvases explore how the process of the death of artwork meets the natural world with color and texture. Natural material exploration has become infused within the most recent paintings, where she explores burning old work to take the residuals and create paint from the ashes.
