Seigolomsoc/Cosmologies, a wall drawing in two acts, encompasses the gallery walls with a visual dialect for viewers to decipher.
The work debuted in its first iteration—Cosmologies—at the HUB-Robeson Galleries in November 2019. Now appearing downtown, the work has morphed, with shapes seen as small cut-outs in the HUB now enlarged into large vinyl decals on the wall. An accompanying video, projected onto one wall, creates a “window” within the gallery and a setting in which the shapes can move freely, let loose from the confines of the canvas or page. The new iteration—Seigolomsoc/Cosmologies—transforms the first project’s chart of marks into a new system, encompassing the gallery walls with a visual dialect for viewers to decipher. This project is a collaboration with Penn State’s Campus Arts Initiative, which brings works of public art to sites around Penn State’s campuses.
