School of Theatre welcomes two new faculty members

The School of Theatre welcomed two new faculty members for the 2024–25 academic year: multidisciplinary artist siri gurudev, assistant professor of theatre studies, and tenor Darnell T. Roulhac, assistant teaching professor of theatre.

gurudev is a multidisciplinary artist, educator, researcher, and theater-maker from Bogotá, Colombia. Their work investigates and questions gender binarism, the violence faced by queer and trans communities, and the transformative power of critical spirituality in performance. gurudev’s work has been showcased in various locations, including Colombia, Mexico, Brazil, Spain, and the United States.

Roulhac is a native of Washington, D.C., where he attended the Duke Ellington School of the Arts. He is a graduate of The Boston Conservatory, where he obtained his bachelor of music in vocal performance. As a member of the Washington National Opera chorus, Roulhac, a tenor, has been a part of several productions, including Appomattox and Don Carlo. He completed his graduate studies at Shenandoah Conservatory, where he received his Master of Music in Contemporary Commercial Music (CCM) Voice Pedagogy.
