UNIVERSITY PARK (2/7/2022) – Percussionist Lee Hinkle performed in his role as principal percussionist with the 21st Century Consort (Washington, D.C.’s premiere contemporary music ensemble since 1975) for a concert entitled “Count the Ways” on Saturday February 5 at 5 pm. The concert was held on Capitol Hill at St. Mark’s Episcopal church and received a very favorable review by Washington Classical Review.

"Percussionist Lee Hinkle created the illusion of a drum kit, including a spastic drum break, with just a hi-hat, pedal-struck bass drum, and vibraphone . . . Percussionist Lee Hinkle answered Shelton with reedy harmonica notes, other wind-like sounds, and wordless vocalises.”
Hinkle joined the Penn State School of Music in 2021 as director of Percussion Studies.
