The Khasma Piano Duo is a highly-sought-after piano duo known for their engaging interdisciplinary projects, collaborations with major composers such as Robert Morris and Kyong Mee Choi, and flawless performances of some of the most challenging music of our time. Living Music will present The Khasma Duo in a two-day residency that will feature a guest artist lecture and a guest artist recital of repertoire never heard on our campus.

About The Khasma Duo:

The Khasma Piano Duo was formed in 2012 by Ashlee Mack and Katherine Palumbo. They have been playing together since meeting at Bucknell University in 2000. Because of their shared enthusiasm for contemporary music, the duo has dedicated themselves to the performance and recording of works from the 20th and 21st centuries. They have given world-premiere performances of music by notable living composers including Chris Catone, Hong-Da Chin, Kyong Mee Choi, Matthew Heap, Jeff Herriott, Amelia Kaplan, Robert Morris, Lawrence Moss, James Romig, Asha Srinivasan, and David Vayo. Their concert tours have taken them all over the U.S. with performances in Illinois, Indiana, New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. Khasma's current project, Trekking, in celebration of their 10th anniversary, which features seven new works commissioned by the duo and a collaboration with visual artist Chris Craychee. Their albums Switchback and Time Seems To Pass are available on all streaming services. Additional recordings can be heard on Innova and Navona Records. Bodies Festival, The Stone, the SONiC Festival, New Music on the Point, and Contemporary Undercurrent of Song Project (Princeton).
