Christopher Guzman is back at Penn State for a special recital. He will be performing a program that features a variety of works in a rich, Romantic setting, departing into modernism in both halves with Bartók and Walker. The recital begins with Liszt’s spiritual “Spozalizio,” which is inspired by Raphael’s painting “The Marriage of the Virgin,” and will close with a staple of virtuoso Spanish piano repertoire, Granados’s “Los Requiebros,” which is based on paintings of Goya.
Christopher Guzman taught piano at Penn State from 2011 to 2023. He currently teaches piano at Northwestern University. Read more about Guzman on his website.
