The first half of the program celebrates Bach's 340th birthday with his third orchestral suite in its original instrumentation and the moving 1st movement from his early cantata, Ich habe genug (I Am Content), BWV 82. The second half of the program begins with a guest presentation by Dr. Nicole Cherry on the violinist George Bridgetower, the virtuoso for whom Beethoven originally wrote what is now known as the Kreutzer Sonata. A chamber ensemble will perform two interesting works by Bridgetower and following that we will hear Beethoven's early Trio for Two Oboes and English Horn. Guest artists on this program which has been curated by Professor James Lyon include Professor Gerardo Edelstein and Javier Gorelik, conductors, Chris Arceo, vocalist, as well as Dr. Cherry as guest lecturer.
