Biography

Seulki Susie Yoo, D.M.A., is a pianist, chamber musician, scholar, and educator who currently serves as a Lecturer of Collaborative Piano. As a winner and finalist in multiple international competitions, including the 39th Delia Steinberg International Competition and the 17th Brahms International Competition, Seulki has performed at prestigious venues such as Wiener Saal (Salzburg, Austria), Congress Center Pörtschach (Austria), Palau de la Música Catalana (Spain), Act City Hamamatsu Concert Hall (Japan), and Sejong Art Center (Korea).

In her role as an educator, Seulki is the conference chair for the Pennsylvania Music Teachers Association and has presented her research at various pedagogical conferences, including regional and national chapters of the College Music Society, American Musicological Society, Society for Music Theory, and Music Teachers National Association. Her publications and presentations focus on popularizing underappreciated repertoire, particularly from late 19th to early 20th-century France.

Seulki received Teacher Recognition at the Clara Schumann International Competition, and her pedagogy was nominated for the Harold F. Martin Graduate Assistant Outstanding Teaching Award at Penn State University in 2021.

Later this year, Seulki will release her recording album Paul Dukas Entire Piano Collection through the Sheva Collection Label in the UK.

She holds a D.M.A. and M.A. from Penn State University, an A.D. from Peabody Conservatory, and M.M./A.D. and B.M. from Korea National University of Arts. She is a member of the academic honor society Pi Kappa Lambda.
