Gallery@104 showcases diverse selection of Arts and Architecture student work

When College of Arts and Architecture students visit the advising and student engagement offices in 104 Borland, they get to see works by their peers, thanks to a new exhibition series.

Gallery@104 was established in 2022 as a biannual exhibition and juried competition for undergraduate Arts and Architecture students in any major. The series has attracted more than 100 entries, ranging from photography and other visual art, such as oil paintings and linocuts, to films, recorded dance pieces and architectural models. The competition is juried and curated by Art History faculty members Heather McCune Bruhn, Ethan Robey and Lauren Taylor.

“I am happy to be part of the group that juries and hangs the work,” said McCune Bruhn. “Each semester the overall quality level goes up, and it can be difficult to say no. We get a big variety of compelling works in all formats. However, we only have limited space, so we have to make some tough decisions.”

The current exhibition will be on view in 104 Borland, the college's Office of Academic Affairs and Outreach, through summer 2023. The next competition call will go out later this summer.
