Art education doctoral candidate published in two issues of 'Art Education'

Luke Meeken, a doctoral candidate in art education in the School of Visual Arts at Penn State, has published two articles in Art Education, the journal of the National Art Education Association, in 2020. “System Error: Versatility and Facility as Empowering Values for the Digital Arts Classroom,” published in the May 2020 issue, discussed strategies for addressing alienating and disabling norms that often accompany the use of digital technology in arts classrooms. “Forms and Bodies: Using Digital Fabrication to Interface the Virtual and Corporeal,” published in the September 2020 issue, is an instructional resource that explores human bodies as fruitful problem spaces for students to develop born-digital artworks that engage critically with the embodied politics of the physical world.
