Up-and-coming Atlanta-based band The Paradox went from recording videos in founder Eric Dangerfield’s bedroom to enjoying viral success on Instagram. Soon after, the power-pop band was opening for rock and punk royalty, including Green Day and Jack White.

After its quick rise in popularity, The Paradox was added to the 2024 When We Were Young Festival in Las Vegas. Last year, the band made its Pennsylvania debut at PhilaMOCA in Philadelphia to a packed house. In May, The Paradox will perform at Bottlerock music festival in Napa Valley, California.

The Paradox — Dangerfield on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Donald Bryant on bass, Christopher “Xelan” Bernard on lead guitar and background vocals, and Percy “PC3” Crews on drums — recently released its debut EP, “NSFW,” featuring guest artist Travis Barker of blink-182.

The concert is presented with assistance from the Center for the Performing Arts Student Advisory Council and arts engagement assistants. Now in its fifth year, the council features Penn State students from organizations and colleges throughout University Park that represent various topic areas, including the performing arts, minority identities, STEM, and student government.
