Purchase TicketsJoin the Penn State Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Rebekah Kathleen O’Brien, for an evening of orchestral storytelling on Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 7:30 p.m. in Eisenhower Auditorium. The concert opens with Danzón No. 2 by Mexican composer Arturo Márquez, a work celebrated for its infectious rhythms and colorful orchestration. Following a brief pause, the orchestra performs Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade, an imaginative symphonic suite inspired by the tales of One Thousand and One Nights. Across four movements, the music brings to life Sinbad’s voyages, the adventures of a prince, a romantic story of a young prince and princess, and a dramatic festival in Baghdad that culminates in a shipwreck!
