Lily Schrantz

Biography

With six years of experience in piano technology, Lily has held positions with Steinway Piano Gallery Cleveland, Peabody Conservatory, and Wolf Instruments, and brings a wealth of expertise in piano maintenance, rebuilding, voicing, regulation, and historical instrument restoration. She has presented workshops and lectures at Piano Technicians Guild regional events on tuning strategies, hammer shaping, and action geometry, and brings a unique perspective as both a performing musician and highly skilled technician. In addition to instrument repair, Lily is an internationally featured guest artist on the violone, viola da gamba, and cello with many prominent ensembles and musicians. She is an enthusiastic collaborative artist, and she is always eager to bring early music to new and evolving audiences. Lily is a regular performer with the Smithsonian Chamber Music Society, and has performed with members of Apollo’s Fire, Tafelmusik, and many others.
