Biography
Lee Washesky is a registered architect and returning instructor to Penn State. After working for various firms for the last 25 years, he has set up a practice, LEE LLC, in downtown State College.
His work in previous firms included projects at all scales from small New York apartments, commercial, retail, industrial, corporate, business, hotels, a museum, and master plans for college campuses. During his five years in Rafael Vinoly’s New York office, Washesky was the project manager during the construction phase of the Brooklyn Children’s Museum and a team member for the Abu Dabi master plan for New York University.
For more than 10 years, Washesky designed, detailed, and followed through construction of K-12 school projects including: a new elementary school in Spencerport, New York; a new high school in Bordentown, New Jersey; and the expansion of the Harrisville, New York PK-12 facility.
He received his B.S. in Architecture from Penn State and his M.Arch. from Columbia University. He also studied at the Architectural Association in London.
Washesky sketches every day and is currently working on portraits of notable people in architecture and the art world. The drawings are an attempt to exist in the realm between portraiture and caricature.
