Biography

Previous to coming to Penn State in 2017, Jay was the Assistant Props Supervisor for The American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco, CA and the Senior Crafts Artisan for the San Francisco Opera Costume Shop. He has worked for Berkeley Repertory Theatre, The Magic Theatre and The Mountain Play and was the Props Master for SFO’s national tour of “The Barber of Seville.” Jay was the Puppet Technician for “KA” by Cirque du Soleil at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, and the Props Lead Technician for “Criss Angel: Believe” a magic show at the Luxor Hotel in LV also by CdS. Jay built props and costume crafts for Oberlin Dance Company’s annual holiday show, “The Velveteen Rabbit.” He has designed sets for The San Francisco Shakespeare Festival, University of San Francisco, Palo Alto Children’s Theatre and the famous political protest theatre The SF Mime Troupe. Jay is also a visual artist.
