Biography
I have been a successful Adjunct Professor for the Pennsylvania State University since 2014. I enjoy teaching Foundations of Professional Photography and Photo Culture where students learn to use the camera settings, to communicate using images, and to print high quality images. I also had the opportunity to teach at Juniata College during the 2016-2017 academic year.
I am a certified Literacy Through Photography Teacher which I taught for the Centre Learning Community Charter School during the 2018-2019 school year. It provided an opportunity for middle school aged children to combine photography and writing to increase literacy skills. LTP explores self, dreams, family, and community. A student exhibition followed completion of the program.
I graduated from Penn State with a Master of Fine Arts Degree with a concentration in Photography in May 2014. I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in photography and a Minor in Human Development and Family Studies in August 2011.
I am interested in expressing photography as an art form in addition to the documentary practice. Currently, I am completing a collection of quiet landscapes and creating prints for an exhibition to hold place during the Fall of 2025. On my website, you will notice samples of images from limited edition books dealing with sensitive issues like homelessness, poverty, and illness. I used my 35mm and 4x5 film cameras in most of my documentary work. I develop and process prints as well as scan negatives for publication.
I have been a freelance photographer for over 10 years covering weddings, graduations, engagements, birthdays, and other similar events.
