With a Ph.D. in Art Education and a background in teaching individuals with disabilities, Alexandra will continue to integrate arts-based research methods and social justice values through her role as a postdoctoral scholar in the School of Visual Arts and the SoVA Studio for Sustainability and Social Action. Using theories from critical disability studies, her research seeks to challenge the stigmatized notion of mental health disorders within a normative society and explore the sociocultural factors that perpetuate performative ablebodiedness.
