Stuckeman Research Symposium & Open House, “Design Consequences: Taking responsibility for our ideas”
The Stuckeman School is proud to host the 2021 Stuckeman Research Symposium and Open House on Sept. 23-24. Organized by José Pinto Duarte, Stuckeman Chair in Design Innovation and director of the Stuckeman Center for Design Computing (SCDC), the open house will begin with a poster exhibition and welcome event on the ground floor of the Stuckeman Family Building* at 12:00 p.m. on Sept. 23 to highlight the research developed within the school’s research units during the past year.
College and school administrators, department heads, and center directors will be joined by faculty and graduate student researchers to discuss their posters and answer questions about their research. The posters and some researchers will also be available digitally via Gather Town. In addition, the research centers will open their doors to showcase their facilities to visitors.
The Stuckeman Research Symposium, titled “Design Consequences: Taking responsibility for our ideas,” will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 23 and continue through Sept. 24. This event is being held virtually in partnership with WPSU. Those who wish to gather in the Jury Space in the Stuckeman Family Building to view the event are welcome to do so.*
Alexandra Staub, professor of architecture and an affiliate member of the Rock Ethics Institute, is organizing the symposium thanks to a Racial Justice, Anti-Discrimination and Democratic Practices Grant from the College of Arts and Architecture. Additional funding has been provided by the Harold K. Schilling Memorial Lecture on Science, Technology, and Society endowment of the Rock Ethics Institute; Stuckeman School; Department of Architecture; SCDC; and the Hamer Center for Community Design.
